Winter Wish Drive is giving back

By Ellep Papp, Arts & Life Writer

Thanksgiving is coming up and brings a great reminder for all to be thankful for the blessings in life. Sometimes the simplest things are taken for granted and it’s the simplest things not missed until one day, it’s not there.

The Winter Wish Drive: Toys For Tots, hosted by The University of Akron, is the perfect opportunity for students and faculty to share the love and spread joy. It’s an opportunity to make a child’s holiday season much better or even a way to help better yourself.

Through Saturday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 30, anyone will have the chance to donate new, unused or unwrapped toys for families and children in the Akron community. These toys will be given to Summit County Children’s Services’ Toy Room to distribute to underprivileged youth in the county.

Any donations may be dropped in the designated boxes located within the Student Life Administration Office and within the Center for Service and Leadership desk before Sunday, Nov. 30.

Be sure to give whatever you can during this holiday season to make a difference in families and children’s lives throughout Summit county.
