The volleyball team faced a tough weekend with losses to both Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan. Both teams defeated the Zips three sets to none.

In Friday’s game on Friday Oct. 24, against Central Michigan, Akron gained momentum as the set progressed, but did not gain enough for a win. CMU held Akron to 16 points in the first set and 19 in the second set. The Zips put up a fight in the third set with a 20-20 tie. The girls could not connect which allowed the Chippewas to take the set 26-24.

On Saturday, Eastern Michigan did not allow Akron to score more than 16 points in any of the three sets. Eastern Michigan beat Akron in hitting percentage, blocks, digs and aces.

Akron continues MAC play next weekend when they travel to BGSU on Friday, Oct. 31. The Zips beat Bowling Green earlier this season, so they will look to end their losing streak then.
