An armed robbery took place inside The Depot’s private apartments in downtown Akron on Tuesday, March 31.

According to the police report, at about 6:30 p.m. a UA student  answered a knock at his apartment door and four black males wearing hoodies forced their way into his apartment.

Two of the assailants were reported to have handguns. While one held one student at gunpoint, the other three males broke into his roommates room. The roommate was not home at the time.

The intruders were able to take more than $3,000 in items from the apartment. The suspects took shoes and electronics.

Nineteen-year-old Adriene D. Wells was arrested in connection with the robbery and was charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery. Wells is the one believed to have held the UA student at gunpoint.

Security footage shows the four men’s arrival at The Depot and their departure with large duffle bags in hand.

If anyone has more information about the theft, they are urged to call Akron detectives at 330-375-2490.
