Dance Marathon hosts Family Field Day

By Kelly Unger, Writer

Dance Marathon is hosting its first Family Field Day on Saturday, March 5 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Central Hower Gym.

Dance Marathon is a nationwide movement across 250 schools. Its goal is to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. This marks Dance Marathon’s second year as an organization at UA.

During the event, dancers will meet families that have benefited from Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in the past and present.

“We are super excited about the event because we get to spend time with miracle families,” said Taylor Foster, director of dancer relations for Dance Marathon. “It really validates what we are trying to accomplish.”

Foster also said there will be food, games, and prizes at the field day, which students are encouraged to attend so they can register for the “Big Event” (Dance Marathon at Akron) on April 2 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. One can register for the “Big Event” online as well.

There is a $10 registration fee, which covers the cost of a T-shirt and food. If you would like more information or are interested in getting involved, please email the executive director, Hannah Marcum, at [email protected].
