To love another after a ruff night

I woke up from my slumber, hitting my head against the ceiling. The hangover ripped through my brain and my forehead could’ve bled if I had shot out of bed any faster. I looked around the 3×3 abode that I’d spent the night in, my naked legs sticking out to feel the sunshine hitting against them, then rolled over to check my phone; 1 p.m.: my day was shot to hell. I gathered my clothes to greet my lover from the night before; was his name Sparky or Spot?

He turned his head to face me as I walked out, Oh hey, I was wondering when you were going to wake up.

You could’ve woken me up…. He peered into the sun, feeling the wind against his wild mane. I didn’t really know what to say. What are you up to?

It’s a me-and-my-owner thing. He kept on pensively digging at the hole in the ground, avoiding eye contact.

Oh, okay…can I have your number? The hole was finally dug, and he went back into his house for a second.

When he came back out he said, I think you should leave before my owners wake up. Then he buried the bone I’d bought him.
