The month of April marks the beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).

Often it is easy to forget about how many people actually have had to go through some sort of sexual assualt, so it good that there is now a reason for people to have an increased awareness on this subject.

The University of Akron is also helping to bring this month’s awareness to the student body.

Through the month of April they will be having several different events including Reducing the Risk of Sexual Assault and the April Coffee Talk at Summit College.

It is nice that the university is helping to spread the word, because not many people even realize that this awareness month exists.

Some people may say there are too many months that are spreading some sort of awareness. While there may be many, they are important.

Without these months how many people would think about these different issues?

Not many.

So, go to some of the events and learn more about the awareness this month.
