ASG names Ziegler president

“As Jason Ziegler was appointed Associated Student Government’s next president, he plans on stressing engagement within the University of Akron community. Ziegler, a junior engineering student and currently ASG vice-president, said as the incoming president he wants to generate a connection between the student body and the student government.”

As Jason Ziegler was appointed Associated Student Government’s next president, he plans on stressing engagement within the University of Akron community.

Ziegler, a junior engineering student and currently ASG vice-president, said as the incoming president he wants to generate a connection between the student body and the student government.

Were going to look at interacting with the student body in a way they haven’t seen before, Ziegler said. They are going to encounter in some way so they can start recognizing us as a resource for them.

While he will not be officially in office till the end of April he will be involved in planning for the summer activities that ASG embarks on.

Things are going to change, within our organization internally, he said. ASG can be recognized its not great, its better than its been in the past and were going to continue to build on that.

Ziegler has not officially announced who his vice-president will be but he said he hopes to announce that on Thursday of this week.

Ziegler will serve as president from the end of the semester till the next election, which will take place in September.

Ziegler said that he would look at running for re-election in the fall.
