Work begins on InfoCision

According to VP for Capital Planning, Ted Curtis, the university tore down four residence halls on Friday and Saturday: Brown Street, Joey, Wallaby and Wallaroo.

However, the university is still waiting on court cases to settle regarding the acquisition of property in the footprint of the stadium. Curtis said that he hopes it will not push the construction dates back, but UA is prepared for some setbacks.

The university has allotted approximately three months of cushion time in the construction schedule.

A project of this size could run into strikes and shortage of supplies, Curtis said. This project includes 500,000 square feet and thousands of pieces.

According to Curtis, UA is hoping to start a full excavation by March or April of this year. This includes clearing all the properties on Nash Street. By September or October, Curtis hopes that there will be steel coming out of the ground.
