Outsiders' Opinion: Should we anticipate the Simpsons movie?

“Usually when a popular TV show makes the jump to the big screen, I look forward to it. I still remember waiting patiently for the X-Files film to redefine the series. This is not the case of the upcoming Simpsons movie. The Simpsons has been on the air for roughly 297 years and they are just now making a movie.”

The Simpsons has been on the air for roughly 297 years and they are just now making a movie. It seems to be nothing more than an attempt to revive a show that has been stale for a while.

Don’t get me wrong, I like The Simpsons, but this just seems a bit lame. What could they possibly make a feature length film about?

How about an entire story dedicated to Blinky, the three-eyed fish? Maybe the plot could circle around Side Show Bob catching Blinky, then selling him to Apu. That sounds entertaining, right?

No, it doesn’t. Actually, I can’t envision any plot that would make me want to sit there for an hour and a half.

I’m sure the movie will get away from the show’s current animation style and move to a more polished computer animation model. Yee-haw.

Nothing screams summer blockbuster like seeing Homer Simpson in high definition, doing something wacky involving food.
