The Zips men’s and women’s basketball garnered recognition with four student athletes being named to the 2014-15 Academic All-MAC Team.
From the men’s basketball team, Jake Kretzer and Reggie McAdams were named to the academic team. Kretzer, a sports management major finished the fall semester with a 3.257, while McAdams, a civil engineering major, achieved a 3.334 GPA in the semester. On the women’s basketball team, Sina King completed her undergraduate with a 3.680 GPA in exercise science and physiology as well as earning credit in the same focus for graduate school with a 3.563. Hannah Plybon is the other honoree from the women’s team and attained a 3.755 in her major of speech language.
This honor is given to student-athletes who perform at excellent levels both on and off the court. In order for a player to qualify for this award, they must achieve a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in a minimum of 50 percent of the contest the team has played in for a particular sport.
