After a two year hiatus, P.O.D.’s newly released album When Angels and Serpents Dance confirm’s their ability to completely rock out.

This band of 15 years has proven their consistency and talents with each and every song produced on this fresh album that hit the shelves April 8.

Weeks before the album was released, P.O.D. made a quick tour throughout America at various Hard Rock Cafes and Hard Rock Café venues.

With deep lyrics and a heavy rock sound, many will find refuge in this album, which holds both controversy and hope.

Their lead single, Addicted, contains intense lyrics which are deeply meaningful.

Shine with Me, which follows Addicted, lightens up the atmosphere. Lyrics like In life you must take your chances reassure any risk-taking fears one may be having.

All of the songs throughout this album are equally great and unique in their own nature, but if any song sticks out it would have to be, I’ll Be Ready.

With a Jamaican vibe and The Marley Girls eye eye eye eye’ing in the background, you can easily see yourself swaying to the beat of this song in the summer heat.

The album is completely unlike past works of P.O.D., but somehow they made it work.

One thing I have to disagree with is the choice of their lead single.

Addicted, is an infallibly good song, but their single When Angels and Serpents Dance, surpasses it by far.

With a beat that’s completely buzz-worthy and lyrics that are comparable to their ever-so-popular 2001 single, Alive, When Angels and Serpents Dance, is a song that will skyrocket as soon as the public gets their hands on it.

Another song to make note of is Tell Me Why, which is an acoustic, calmer single that incorporates both deep meaning and a sense of emotion that many will be able to relate to.

The band, originally from San Diego, took their two year break and made great music.

So whether you’ve been a hardcore fan for years, or if you’ve never even heard of P.O.D., make sure to take a look at this well produced, extremely thought-out album.

It’s 49 minutes of music that won’t be a waste of your time.
