Everybody dance now

Get a taste of Italy this Saturday, April 16 at the Masquerade Ball, hosted by the Ballroom Dance Club and the Latin Competition Team.

This year’s theme is Carnevale di Venezia, which is inspired by a masked event that takes place annually in Venice, Italy.

The event will start at 7 p.m. and go until 10:30 p.m in the Central Hower High School gym on 123 S. Forge St.

Formal attire and masks are recommended for this event, but not required. It is also advised to not wear masks until inside the building. Students, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to attend this event.

Along with dancing, attendees can enjoy a gondola and backdrop for pictures, and Italian inspired snacks.

“Attendees will have a lovely formal evening of dancing. Any kind of dancing is encouraged, not just ballroom,” said Ballroom Dance Club advertiser and member Abigail Wakefield.

Attendees can also enjoy games such as Minute to Win It and various dance related games.

Tickets cost $5 per person and $8 per couple or pair.

Tickets will be available to purchase in the Student Union from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, and Friday, April 15. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the night of the event or can be requested by emailing the Ballroom Dance Club at [email protected].

The money goes toward paying for the event and any leftover funds will benefit the Ballroom Dance Club to get additional coaching.
