ZPN Hosts Trunk or Treat

On Thursday, Oct.  27, the Zips Programming Network (ZPN) will be hosting an event called “Trunk or Treat” from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Leggett Elementary School by Allen and Thornton Street in Akron, Ohio.

ZPN invites all departments and student organizations of The University of Akron to volunteer their time in providing the Leggett elementary students with a fun trick-or-treating experience.

“This event is put on to ensure the students at Leggett Elementary School have a safe area to trick-or-treat at and get the full Halloween experience,” says ZPN President Ashley Ritter.

For this year’s Trunk or Treat of  “USA Road Trip,” each department chooses a state to represent. Those in attendance at this event usually get into spirit with all kinds of decorations and themes.

This year, ZPN has chosen Kansas as its state. ZPN members will be dressing up as characters from “The Wizard of Oz.”

In addition, the Rec Center and The Department of Student Life will also be participating.

ZPN extends their invitation of this event to anyone that would like to volunteer — but keep in mind that the candy is for the children, not the adults.
