Clubs To Watch Out For (10-27-16)

Ballroom Dance Club

This group of students comes together to learn, practice, and teach different types of ballroom dancing for both fun and preparing for competition. This club is focused on teaching the basic steps of each dance, and doesn’t require students to have any prior knowledge going into it. The organization is all about introducing a new and fun way to meet people in a setting that students might not have a chance to experience otherwise.

Campus Focus

The tagline of Campus Focus is “connecting people to God.” People come from a variety of backgrounds, systems of beliefs, and experiences. It is the club’s desire to create a place where people of all walks of life can go and ask difficult questions, and experience the love of the church. The club meets every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

Financial Management Association

This is a student organization with the purpose of helping students on campus prepare for successful careers in the finance industry. Meetings generally include guest speakers from the Akron/Cleveland area who are currently in the financial industry. Presentations include information about career paths and different industries within finance, what to expect when you begin job searching, and tips on building your resume/interviewing skills. The organization hosts other events throughout the semester, including networking events, resume/interview workshops, and conferences. All majors are welcome and there is no fee to join. If you are interested in joining or have any questions feel free to email [email protected].
