Makeup hacks for the college girl

Your alarm goes off at 7 a.m. and you hit snooze five times. You planned to wake up, make yourself breakfast, put on your favorite jams, and get ready to kill your presentation at 8:30 a.m.

While having the most amazing dream (you’re finally on a date with Zac Efron), your sixth snooze goes off and you jump out of bed hastily. You realize it’s already 8:00 a.m. and you have to be in class in 20 minutes and you look a mess. What’s a girl to do? Have no fear – with these running late hacks, you can slay your presentation, be on time, and look gorgeous.

Say hello to dry shampoo because it’s your new best friend. If you don’t have enough time to shower or wash your hair, grab a bottle and spray it into your roots and work it into your hair. Let it sit for a few seconds and then brush it out. The dry shampoo helps soak up any excess oils that may cause your hair to look not so fresh, and it adds volume. Now you need a quick and cute hairstyle. Throw your hair in a messy bun, do a messy side braid, or the popular half up/half down hairstyle. Grab a little hairspray, spray it down, and now your hair is good to go.

Now on to the next step: your makeup. Since you’re running late, you don’t have time do a killer winged eyeliner look or a perfect contour, but you do have time for a simple fresh-faced look. Start by grabbing a BB cream or a face powder, whichever works best for you. This will give you enough coverage and make your face look vibrant and refreshed.

After that, grab mascara and coat your upper and lower lashes. The mascara will give the eyes more definition and open them up. Applying a white or nude eye pencil to your waterline also helps give the eyes an awake look and since you haven’t had your morning Starbucks, this tip is key.  Lastly, go for a tinted lip balm or a gloss and you’re set.

One more thing and you are ready to go. You need a cute and simple outfit. First, grab your favorite pair of pants, and a cute simple blouse or T-shirt. Now style it up, roll the bottom of your jeans, grab a scarf, and put on a pair of booties or whatever makes you feel fabulous. Lastly, add your own style touch. If you like jackets, throw one on whether it be a vest, a military jacket, a leather jacket, or a bomber jacket to make the outfit your own. Don’t forget about accessories as they can bring any outfit to life. Since your outfit is on and you’re feeling stylish and comfortable, then you are good to go, girl.

Now go to class and slay it. Whether you are running late or are just lazy, any of these tips can help. College is hard enough as it is and these tips are here to make it a little easier.
