Can't miss game is a can't see event

“An NFL football game on a Thursday night would seem like a godsend. It cures the mid-week itch of waiting for Sunday and gives fans an extra game to watch during the week. But if you don’t pay for the NFL Sunday Ticket package, or have the NFL Network, Thursday games are basically non-existent.”

An NFL football game on a Thursday night would seem like a godsend.

It cures the mid-week itch of waiting for Sunday and gives fans an extra game to watch during the week.

But if you don’t pay for the NFL Sunday Ticket package, or have the NFL Network, Thursday games are basically non-existent.

Sure, you can head to the bar to catch the game, but it takes away the chance to enjoy the game in the comfortable surroundings of your own home.

And that’s too bad, because tonight’s Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys game is can’t miss.

Don’t let the NFL Network stop you from seeing this because you’ll be sorry if you miss it.

This contest embodies everything a week 13 match-up should be.

Why to watch

Two 11-1 teams are playing at the top of their game with a chance to become the dominant team in the National Football Conference.

Two similar quarterbacks that could not be at any more different points in their careers face-off for the first time.

The legend, Brett Favre, is coming off two horrific seasons, and is now playing like he’s back in his prime.

The incumbent, Tony Romo, an un-drafted free agent, is leading the second best offense in the NFL and will be starting in only his 27th game.

Both quarterbacks have a similar playing style – risk takers that make big plays at key moments.

The Packers shut-down corners, Al Harris and Charles Woodson, will attempt to stop a Cowboys receiving core that boasts a rejuvenated Terrell Owens, who is second in the league in receiving yards (1,093) and touchdowns (13).

The importance

The victor in this game could solidify home field advantage for the NFC Championship game for either team.

If both teams make it that far, which seems likely because both teams have distanced themselves from the rest of the competition in the NFC, tonight’s game will shed light on which team is most likely to go to the Super Bowl.

Favre has never won in his eight attempts at Texas Stadium, and that should provide him with a little extra motivation tonight.

The argument of who the best team is in the NFC will be decided, and you won’t have to hear the debate all over ESPN and other sporting networks anymore.

One thing is for sure, tonight’s game will be an offensive-heavy match-up and whoever has the better defense will win the game.

No way I’m going to miss this one, and neither should you.

I’ll see you at the bar.
