The Academy Awards are this Sunday, which means it’s time for everybody to see which films are going to take home the coveted Oscar.
One thing that makes us a little disappointed this year is that The Dark Knight wasn’t nominated for a Best Picture award.
It is nominated for quite a few other things, including best Art Direction, but it comes as a surprise that it wasn’t included in the Best Picture category too.
It is understandable that movies that movies under this award category should be well made, but it seems that they should also be movies that people are familiar with too.
For instance, the movie The Reader is up for nomination.
How many people have actually heard of that movie, let alone seen it?
It just seems that the The Academy Awards pride themselves in nominating obscure movies for that category.
We admit, most films that are produced in Hollywood are garbage, and many obscure film are good, but when a films is both well made and popular, such as The Dark Knight, it seems that it should be nominated for a Best Picture award.
