Graduate students would see a rise in their tuition.

College of Business courses would go from $378.02 per credit hour to $400.00 per credit hour. The Nursing Anesthesia Program courses would go from $421.00 to $440.00 per credit hour and all other graduate courses would raise from $342.47 per credit hour to $365.00.

If the increase goes through, the graduate program will have a 6.6 percent increase in their tuition and fees.

The law school could also be facing increases in their tuition for the upcoming school year.

According to a chart provided by the Vice president for Finance & Administration John Case, the law school could be looking at a $19,353 for tuition, which equals a 12 percent increase.

This sets the University of Akron at the third lowest tuition for law school in Ohio excluding the University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo and Cleveland State as their tuition and fees have not been set.

According to the proposal room and board rates will go up 5.7 percent for all residence halls except Garson Hall. Rooms in Gallucci, Grant, Ritchie, Orr, Sisler-McFawn, Bulger and Spanton would go from $5,203.00 a year to $5,499.00 a year. The Townhouses and Quaker Square would be $5,775.00 compared to this year’s $5,464.00. Depending on the type of room in the Honors or Exchange street dorms, the price could go to $6,155.00 for a double room to $7,964.00 for an apartment.

The board of trustees will decide on the proposed tuition and room and board prices at their meeting on Wednesday morning.
