His company began more than half a century ago at a time when his work was so radical that he was deemed the naughty boy. This may be seen as an offensive comment to some but Mr. Taylor is able to put a positive spin on it.

Whenever a dance of mine is controversial it brings me much satisfaction. One of my aims is to present questions rather than answers, Taylor said.

Taylor is known for tackling contemporary issues such as American imperialism, war, spirituality, love and sexuality through dance. Throughout the decades as modern dance became more accepted he made quite an impression on audience through his prolific and moving choreography.

He is also commended for the versatility of his choreography as he has offered some of the most romantic, athletic, and humorous dances ever performed set to every genre of music you can imagine including Reggae, Classical and Rock.

Today, Taylor is 80 years old and is still praised for his vivacious and poignant choreography. His company is in its 54th year of performance and the troupe continues to receive rave reviews.

The New York Times calls PTDC One of the most exciting, innovative, and delightful dance companies in the entire world. While The Washington Post hails Taylor as One of the most astute social observers in any art form.

So, if you are looking for something to do this weekend on campus come check out the Paul Taylor Dance Company and witness the brilliant performance that has critics everywhere applauding. Tickets are $5.00 for students and $10-$45 for the general public. The show starts at 8 p.m. this Saturday.
