A 20 year old Akron man, Davarius Allen, was found guilty on Jan. 20. for a string of crimes last spring. The crimes involved several university of Akron students.

On May 13, 2009, Allen robbed four students at gunpoint on Sherman Street and took their wallets. One of the student’s car keys were stolen along with his new car.

Again on May 28, 2009, Allen entered an apartment on Allyn Street carrying a gun. He raped a female college and stole several of her valuables including her TV and Xbox. They were unable to call the police because Allen had also taken their cell phones.

Both were apprehended by the police who had followed them from Allen’s Sumner Street house.

Allen was convicted of eight counts of aggravated robbery with gun specifications, three counts of aggravated burglary with gun specifications, two counts of rape with gun specifications, felonious assault with a gun specification, and receiving stolen property.
