Quade Milum was a four-year letterwinner at The University of Akron when he suited up in blue and gold for his collegiate basketball career. Now Milum will be decked in blue and red, as he has been named one of the ten members of the Harlem Globetrotters’ 2012 rookie class.
The newly-named Globetrotter played for the Zips in 2005-08, and will be playing alongside the world’s tallest professional basketball player, the shortest Globetrotter ever and the first female player in almost two decades.
Milum, now also known as “Quake,” will be joined by Paul “Tiny” Sturgess, a 7 foot 8 inch center from Mountain State University, W. Va., Jonte “Too Tall” Hall, the shortest player in Globetrotter history at 5 foot 3inches, and Fatima “TNT” Maddox, a women’s basketball star from Temple University.
“The Globetrotters are excited to welcome a new generation of stars to carry on the storied tradition of the world’s most entertaining basketball team,” said Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider. “This year’s rookie class features some of the most talented and promising players from across the world.”
In his four years at UA, the 6 foot 8 inch forward finished with 499 career points and 273 rebounds. He is ranked eighth in career blocked shots (65) and is tied for ninth in blocked shots in a season (35).
The Dayton, Ohio native also competed in high jump for the track and field team while at UA.
