Softball to travel to Dayton Sunday

The Lady Zips softball team will travel to the University of Dayton to for a doubleheader Sunday.

The Zips head into the contest with an even 11-11 record, compiled from competing in a series of invitationals in Va., Fla., Calif., S.C. and La.

The Zips are led statistically in batting by Rachael Ratcliffe, who has posted a .421 average, along with four homeruns, 14 RBIs and a .686 slugging percentage.

On the mound, Brittany Mauer leads the team with a 3.41 ERA and 54 strikeouts, starting 19 games and pitching 111 total innings.

The Dayton Flyers have posted a 10-13 record thus far after participating in the Century Link Classic, the Frost Classic, the Spartan Classic and the Miami Invitational.

The Flyers are led offensively by Kathleen Maloof with a .348 batting average and six homeruns, along with a .696 slugging percentage.  On the mound, Sarah Wedel has posted a 5-2 record in seven starts  and  30.1 total innings played, while Kayla English leads the team with a 3.64 ERA and 39 strikeouts in five starts and 40.1 innings played.
