Truly good local music is seemingly harder and harder to come across these days, but Silence of a Silhouette is an up and coming band that does not disappoint.
The band, originally from Cleveland, has energy, spunk and a stage performance that leaves you coming back for more.
Silence of a Silhouette is a Progressive/Emo/Experimental band that consists of five talented young men.
Danny (lead vocals), Jeff (guitar, keyboards, back-up vocals), Andy (lead guitar), Justin (bass guitar) and Jeffrah (drums) are the quintet of talent who were originally inspired by Story of the Year and Circa Survive.
SOS formed in November of 2004 and signed with Metrohouse Management in 2007.
Cole Martinez, who has worked with the Dave Matthews Band and Between Home and Serenity, worked with them on their first and newly released EP.
The EP, titled Escaping Reality, showcases their abilities as a band and is available to preview on their Myspace and iTunes.
What you see is what you get with Silence of a Silhouette.
Not only do they sound just as good, if not better, live, they have the stage presence to awe even the most hardcore rap listener.
The fan base is also another strong part to this unforgettable band.
Not only do they chant S-O-S before and after they get on or off the stage, but they diligently sing along to every lyric and make sure to catch Danny, the lead singer, when he decides to hurl his body off the stage and into the crowd.
Currently, Silence of a Silhouette is competing in 2008’s Vans Warped Tour Battle of the Bands.
Not only have they been finishing in the top two places each week in the voting for Cleveland, they have also made it to the top of the list nationally.
Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for Silence of a Silhouette on the Ernie Ball Stage at the 2008 Vans Warped Tour in Cleveland on July 17 at the Time Warner Cable Amphitheatre.
SOS’s summer plans include touring the East Coast and going to various Warped Tour dates to promote the band.
We just want to get our music to as many people as possible, says Andy from SOS.
After listening to the mesmerizing lyrics and sound of this band, that’s something they’ll more than certainly accomplish.
