The Buchtelite

The Buchtelite is a self-supporting student organization. It does not receive money from The University of Akron, though the University provides rent-free office space in Kolbe Hall. The Buchtelite pays for the use of its office phones copiers, printers and fax machines. It purchases its own office supplies and equipment, from paperclips to computers.

Unlike other student organizations, The Buchtelite also operates as a business. It relies on revenue from advertising sales to cover its costs, which also include the printing of the newspaper, hosting the website and paying students who work as editors, sales representatives, office assistants and distribution agents.

If your business would like to connect with a student population of about 25,000, our advertising options can help you achieve that.

If you are a business person or an individual who is replacing computers, digital cameras or digital voice recorders and would like to donate your gently used, but not obsolete equipment to The Buchtelite, please contact the adviser at 330-972-5475. We can accept only Mac computers, but any brand of digital camera or audio recorder is fine.
