Akronauts Rocket Design Team
This club is a high-powered, sub-sonic group. The team designs, innovated, builds, and even launches experimental sounding rockets. Its most recent project was a rocket called “Project Daedalus,” which stood 12.5’ tall, weighed 83 lbs. and reached an altitude of 10,300 feet. The club competed internationally and will attend the International Rocket Engineering Competition in June. The teams’ subsystems include aerostructure, recovery and payload. With more than 35 members, the Akronauts comprise students majoring in a variety of STEM fields. They are currently recruiting new members, especially electrical engineers. “Delight” is a college women’s religious community that worships God. The club has meetings every Friday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Student Union room 314. During meetings they read a devotional story and have discussions. There are always food and laughs. Delight is a new student organization and still growing.
One of the most well-known clubs on campus that attends sporting events and gets rowdy in the student section. Its members tailgate for football events and have cookouts and play cornhole. The club even travels to away games to spread school spirit. It’s $20 to be a part of the club, which includes a shirt.
