Sympson's weekly sports view

Written by: Matt Sympson

Zips football

Watching a crushing victory by the Zips football team was an experience not soon to be forgotten by avid fans.

It was exciting to see our football team get their first win of the season.

It was great to see them blow out a team. Hopefully they will carry this momentum into next week.

A 66-6 victory over Morgan State should definitely boost the Zips’ confidence as they play Tennessee next weekend.

That will be a tough challenge.

Men’s Soccer

The Zips men’s soccer team beat South Florida 5-0 on Sunday.

Let’s see if they can get a victory on the road Saturday against MAC opponent Bowling Green.

Professional football

Sunday was week two of the NFL season, and I was so happy to see my Steelers grab their first win and improve to 1-1.

It was a solid, much-needed victory against the Jets.

I also caught most of the Browns game. They looked good, but they allowed the Bengals too many third-down conversions.

I thought the Browns were going to pull away with the victory, but they fell short.

I think they’ll have a good chance to get their first win when they play the Bills next Sunday.

I look forward to another exciting weekend of sports starting this Friday, and I hope that all of our teams can bring us a victory!

Go Zips!
