New elections procedures were approved Tuesday, March 22 at the GSG campus-wide meeting. Both an online and physical registration are required. The hard copy of the registration must include signatures. No late entries will be accepted.

Candidates running for President or Vice President must file as a ticket. Each candidate on the ticket must receive 35 valid graduate student signatures for a total of 70 signatures for the ticket. President/Vice President tickets will be listed on the ballot as a single voting opportunity.

The offices of President, Vice President and Treasurer are eligible for a stipend. Details of the formula related to budget and distribution are listed on the application packet and are set by the 2011 Election Commission for the following year based upon the constitution and bylaws of GSG, also available online at http://www.uakron.edu/sg/gsg/. Budget estimates and calculations are subject to change.

Neither Senators nor Departmental Representatives are eligible for a stipend. After the elections, candidates for Departmental Representative for departments offering graduate coursework are nominated by the Senator for the respective College and appointed by the President with the approval of the Executive Committee and Central Committee.
