“You may not think about it too much, but the holidays are a time for the exchange of many things besides gifts among friends and loved ones. It is also an exchange of warmth, kindness and cheer. Or at least it should be the reason why we exchange gifts in the first place.”

You may not think about it too much, but the holidays are a time for the exchange of many things besides gifts among friends and loved ones.

It is also an exchange of warmth, kindness and cheer.

Or at least it should be the reason why we exchange gifts in the first place.

Many businesses want you to believe that this is still the reason why we celebrate the holidays and that is why marketing experts are paid decent wages to tap into your psyche.

Face it. Despite your cleverness, advertisers know exactly what you’re looking for and they continue to stay one step ahead of the consumer.

Maybe you never wondered why the holidays start earlier every year, but you sure know how to gripe about it.

That’s still not nearly enough to change your mind about all of those great holiday specials.

A longer holiday season, after all, gives you a longer period to enjoy all the sales, shopping and bargains only offered during this time of year.

While you think you are getting deals, you’re actually spending more and companies are the ones reaping the rewards.

There’s a reason things are in limited supply during this time and it’s not just because people want them.

In fact, it’s the other way around.

Not only that, the allure of limited supply gives companies a chance to spike their prices.

In the end, you pay, literally and figuratively.
