The Steve Miller Band and opener Joe Cocker proved to be one of the most entertaining concerts of the summer.

There was a great atmosphere around the crowd and anyone could see that Steve Miller Band fans were out in full force despite a pending storm.

Although the headliner was Steve Miller Band, it seemed nobody initially cared to hear Joe Cocker.

However, the Woodstock veteran easily stole the show.

Joe Cocker is best known for his facial expressions and his covers of popular songs. He played hit after hit like Feeling Alright, Up Where We Belong, Summer in the City, and You Are so Beautiful.

Finally, after the guy beside me screamed Winnie Cooper and Kevin Arnold all night, Cocker finally played the song that really put it over the top as being a great show.

Cocker played a 10 minute version of With a Little Help From My Friends, better known as the Wonder Years Theme song.

Cocker still had his moves from when his younger days and was also giving his famous scream throughout the song.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I heard they would be playing new music that they had been working on in the studio.

Also a friend told me that he saw Miller last year, and Steve was almost too drunk to perform. But both turned out false, and Steve Miller put on a really good show.

The crowd heard most of the songs they wanted to as he played his greatest hits such as Wild Mountain Honey, Take the Money and Run, The Joker, and Dance, Dance, Dance.

For a band that has been around for upwards of 30 years, they had some excitement and energy on stage.

The nine minute song was well put together as each musician had the chance so showcase their ability with a solo.

Overall, it was a great show. The crowd sang along with every word and danced with every note. Few left disappointed after both bands played their greatest hits.
