Our View

“Most people know that the day before Thanksgiving is the biggest drinking day of the year, and no one is trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Most people know that the day before Thanksgiving is the biggest drinking day of the year, and no one is trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

You’re all adults, and despite the fact that you don’t act like it sometimes, this is the one night out of the year you don’t let that behavior get away.

There’s nothing wrong with having fun, but let’s not get out of control.

To put it simply, just be safe.

If your friends are drinking, don’t let them drive.

Likewise, don’t be the one to drive them if you’ve been drinking too.

Call a cab, or if you’re lucky, a sober friend could come pick you up.

Be conscious of how much you drink and don’t go overboard.

It’s hard enjoying a nice Thanksgiving meal when you’re hung over from the night before.

Remember that you’re not the only one going out.

While you might not be the one drinking, it’s likely that the number of intoxicated drivers will be higher than usual.

If you see any kind of unusual behavior, don’t second guess it.

Call the police, or 1-800-grab-dui.

You can’t carve a turkey if you’re dead.

Stay safe when you go out this year, and you’ll have more to be thankful for, and your family will be thankful for your safety.
