The University of Akron tennis team will host the Akron Invitational during the homecoming weekend.

“We are focused on development,” head coach Brandon Padgett said. “Some was good, some was bad, but all was beneficial to their overall progress as players.”

The Zips are coming off of a bad showing in the Notre Dame Invitational and will look to build at home during their home tournament. The invitational brings the Zips against Cornell, Michigan State and West Virginia in a round-robin tournament.

UA will like to see senior Olga Shkundina bounce back this weekend along with sophomore Shannon Newnes, who lost last weekend in South Bend.
