New store, The Candy Bar, satisfies students sweet tooth

A new candy store opened on Monday, Oct. 20 on the 3rd floor of the Polsky building. The Candy Bar is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Whether students want chocolate, sour, sweet or bulk candy, The Candy Bar has it all. They feature a large variety of bulk, nostalgic and retro candy many will remember from when they were a child. The store also carries premium chocolate candies such as Lindor Dark Chocolate Truffles, Lindor White Chocolate Truffles and Lindor Hazelnut Milk Chocolate Truffles.
Customers can purchase a bag of bulk candy with the price depending on the weight: $4.99 a pound, $2.50 for half a pound, and $1.25 for a quarter of a pound. The Three Ring Circus such as the candy necklaces, air heads, Charleston Chew and Hot Dog Gummy Candy are 3 or $1.
The store stocks many retro candies like Pop Rocks, Giant Pixy Stix, Ring Pops, Big League Chewing gum and PEZ. They also have a wide variety of Pennsylvania Dutch candies like Atomic Fireballs, Marshmallow Cones, Strawberry Laces and Jumbo Rainbow Suckers.
The Candy Bar Store is filled with delicious treats. They also have goodies for the daredevil candy lovers. “I’ve sold two Ant-Lix Suckers, Scorpion Suckers and Worm Suckers,” said Jerome. Whether it be more traditional candy wanted or to try something new, The Candy Bar has something for everyone to enjoy.
The Candy Bar has a deal going on for shoppers to buy two Coca-Cola products, the customer will receive a free Halloween-themed hat.
The vibrant atmosphere of The Candy Bar will definitely catch the eye of many candy lovers.
The Candy Bar makes a point to bring the entire shop together with playing some classic music to enhance the mood when shopping.
“Can’t forget about the oldies music to go along with the retro candy” said Jerome jokingly.
Whether customers prefer more modern candy or want to take a trip to the past, The Candy Bar is a sweet deal.
