All the media seems to talk about these days is the race for presidency, but this particular race is a unique one.

Unfortunately, few people even pay attention to the local news let alone care about who is the next president.

But it is clearly understandable why this is a main topic of all conversation. In the Sept. 21, 2008 issue of the Akron Beacon Journal there was an article that stated an Ohio poll has the vote 48 percent McCain to 42 percent Obama.

What does McCain have to do for people to see what is going on?

Sadly, There are some people who will never vote for Obama based solely on the color of his skin.

Let’s be real. Racism still exists. Even children’s t-shirts claim that Obama is supposedly a terrorist.

The New Yorker Magazine put Obama and his wife on the cover in a cartoon illustration as Osama bin Laden – loving terrorist.

She packs an AK-47 and burns the American flag.

Really?

This only plays into Americans’ misconceptions and fears.

Barack Obama is an intelligent man who happens to be black.

Why is his skin color such a focus?

Guess we are back to the one-drop rule.

Comparing any American citizen to a terrorist is unpatriotic and those responsible should be ashamed.

It would be insulting in the same manner if Ebony magazine put a picture of McCain and his wife on the cover dressed as the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.

No matter what the decision is after voting, everyone must agree that we are in a crisis.

Red or Blue, we have to change or we will all be in the next Great Depression.

We should all pay close attention to what these candidates are saying rather than focus only on their personalities or sound bites.

This should go without saying.

We are all attending the University of Akron to graduate with a degree and to start our careers.

Will it matter if you can no longer afford this wonderful college education, or if you graduate and can’t find a job?

If we continue down the road toward recession, it wouldn’t make a difference if it was Obama or McCain, white or black, red or blue – we would all have the same feeling: enough!
