Weekend matches ended in success for the Zips tennis team, as they earn their first win in conference play over the visiting Falcons of Bowling Green (0-12). The Zips also hosted the RedHawks of Miami (8-6) which ended terribly for the Zips who were swept 7-0 by the RedHawks. “Miami is definitely the best in our conference. We did as well as we could under the circumstances with a very depleted line-up [from injuries and illnesses]. We’re happy with the way Martina and Sophia played, but we need to do a better job of closing out when given the opportunity,” Head coach Brandon Padgett said to media.
UA is now 9-9 overall and 1-3 in conference play with their next game being against Western Michigan on their home court.
