This election we’ve all heard Barack Obama’s eloquent speeches and seen his sharp good looks. We’ve all been mesmerized at how he has assumed his rock star status, not only in America but also around the world. We’ve all been astonished at how he says he’s going to mend the problems of Washington and solve world hunger. What we haven’t heard is the truth concerning his friends and those that have put him in the position to be the next President of the United States of America.
It all started with Obama’s pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Wright is the head pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ on the south side of Chicago, where Obama attended for over 20 years. In April of this year, Wright said, God damn America from the pulpit. He has been quoted as saying that the U.S. government is responsible for concocting the AIDS virus, Wright has stated that our recent war efforts have been nothing more than terrorist acts by the U.S. Military and he preaches black liberation theology that is unashamedly black and unashamedly Christian.
Through all of this, Barack Obama claims that he had no idea Wright had made these outrageous statements. I find that hard to believe, as he attended the Reverend’s church for more than 20 years, was married by him and had both of his children baptized by Wright. Do the math. If Obama attended church once a month for the last 20 years, that gives him 240 opportunities to hear the Reverend. Unless Obama is deaf and just didn’t realize it, there would be plenty of time to catch on to the lack of respect Wright has for America.
More recently Barack has come under fire from his connection with Bill Ayers, a domestic terrorist from the ’60s who planned the bombing of the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon. The Obama campaign claims that Barack and Ayers just live near each other and are nothing more than acquaintances.
The duo have been working together as early as 1995, when Barack launched his political career at Ayers’ own home. That same year the two pals served together on the Annenberg Challenge Project, which was aimed at pairing local private funds with area schools. The board for this project, chaired by Senator Obama, saw fit to give hundreds of thousands of dollars to Ayers for use in one of Ayers’ own projects. In 1997 Obama wrote a personal and flattering review for Ayers’ book addressing how juveniles are treated unfairly in the justice system. Ayers is now contributing large amounts of money to the Obama campaign.
Obama’s latest blunder has come from his association with ACORN, now being charged with voter fraud all across the country. Obama’s first connection with the group came fresh out of law school when they asked for his representation in a lawsuit against the state of Illinois. From there, Obama went on to run the voter registration campaign. Now he pays those same people to run his voter registration effort.
Even without the help of Obama, ACORN has had its own problems. For years the heads of the organization covered up that Dale Rathke, the brother of the co-founder of ACORN, had embezzled close to a million dollars from the group. During the 2004 election cycle, another ACORN project had numerous allegations of voter fraud, vote tampering, and registering convicted felons. This time around ACORN has been accused of voter fraud in 15 states.
It’s not coincidence and it’s not chance, it’s reality. Barack Obama carries scandal wherever he goes. Give him the highest office in the land and that mound is going to turn into Mount Everest faster than you can say Change We Can Believe In.
