Zombie event to break world record
September 19, 2016
In an attempt to break a world record, a large scale Zombie Nerf Attack will take place on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at Firestone Metro Park.
The event is an attempt to appear in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest zombie-themed event for World Zombie Day and the largest Nerf war. Similar events will be hosted all over the United States at the same time.
The two-hour event will immerse participants in a simulated zombie apocalypse. Rounds will last 20 minutes, rotating participants for each one. Participants will act as the humans or zombies. During the round, the humans can win the event by staying alive and not being tagged by the zombies.
The live-action zombie simulation was organized by Winter State Entertainment and George Romero. The company is based in Minnesota and specializes in creating films, and the founder, Hamid Torabpour, directed a film called “Zombies,” scheduled to appear in theaters on Oct. 7.
In Akron, the event will raise money for local charities while also promoting the release of the film.
Those interested in participating in the event can register online at zombiethemovie.com. Registration is 100 dollars, but it also includes a ticket to see the movie “Zombies” in theaters, a t-shirt, Nerf Blaster gun, and other merchandise from event sponsors.
For more information about the event contact Torapour at hamid@winterstateentertainment.com or at 507-676-2531.
