PSA: Volunteers sought for April 30 clean up

Volunteers are welcome to help Western Reserve Land Conservancy clean up Adam’s Run and Haley’s Run in Southeast Akron from 9 a.m. to noon April 30.

The cleanup, which is being done in cooperation with Keep Akron Beautiful, is part of Clean Up Akron Week and the Great American Cleanup. Volunteers will pick up trash and pull invasive plants along both Adam’s and Haley’s Runs, including the new trail along Haley’s. There will also be fun and educational activities for children.

Groups cooperating for the event also include the National Park Service, the Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition, the Summit Soil and Water Conservation District, Lockheed Martin Corp. and Goodyear employees.

Wear sturdy boots and bring your own gloves if you have them. Meet at the north end of Essex Avenue, off Triplett Boulevard in Akron, just south of the Goodyear Test Track. Light refreshments will be served.
