Greek Beat: Walk for Alzheimer's disease

On Saturday before Akron’s Homecoming football game, the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma hosted Balloon Pop, one of their biggest philanthropy events of the year.

The women walked around selling balloons with tickets inside of them. Balloons were $1 each or six for $5. Once purchased, people would pop the balloons. If the ticket had a sticker on it, they could win gift cards from O’Charleys, McDonalds, and Five Guys or various gift baskets. The woman also sold baked goods and hot dogs at their house.

All proceeds went to one of KKG’s philanthropies, Kappa Kidney Camp. Kappa Kidney Camp is a place where kids go who have kidney dialysis or kidney failure. In total, the ladies raised over $1,000.
