“With families constantly visiting campus, it’s nice to figure out a place to go eat with them when they come. As a college student, living on an $87 dining plan a week, I’m used to the value menu at McDonald’s and $2.69 Crunchwrap Supremes at Taco Bell. With families constantly visiting campus, it’s nice to figure out a place to go eat with them when they come. As a college student, living on an $87 dining plan a week, I’m used to the value menu at McDonald’s and $2.69 Crunchwrap Supremes at Taco Bell. Luckily, this past Monday after driving down Main Street, I came across Spaghetti Warehouse.
I’ve been to Spaghetti Warehouse when I was younger, in my hometown of Columbus, and loved it. Needless to say, I was extremely anxious to dine at the one here in Akron.
When entering the restaurant I was immediately taken aback by the vast amount of space on the inside, and the décor looks like it came straight out of a 1940s Italian version of Home and Garden magazine.
My friends and I were immediately greeted by a smiling hostess as soon as we walked in and she escorted us to our seats; a family-style table for four. On the way to our seats, I passed a train car in the middle of the restaurant. A train car. How creative!
On a college student’s budget, my friends and I were skeptical about looking through the menu, fearful we would encounter $35 ravioli. Luckily for us, and our wallets, the menu consisted of $10 chicken parmigiana and $11 ravioli. Spaghetti Warehouse has Sausage Penne Pomodoro, Chicken Marsala and Eggplant Parmigiana. I ordered a simple pasta entree with sautéed mushrooms a la carte. Even more exciting, all pasta entrees come with a choice of salad or soup, including Wedding andMinestrone.
The best part about Spaghetti Warehouse, aside from the delicious Italian entrees, is the bread. Afteryou place your order, the server brings out a warm loaf of sourdough bread with a side of garlic butter…absolutely amazing.
If Italian food isn’t really your forté, Spaghetti Warehouse also offers steak, chicken tenders and french fries. Their desserts are also extremely yummy, especially the 12-layer chocolate cake.
Dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse was definitely enjoyable. The food was sensational, the service was exact and the night I was there a balloon artist was creating balloon animals, and giving them to everyone.Kids for sure got a kick out of the amusement, and they seemed entertained throughout their meal.
Currently Spaghetti Warehouse is collaborating with an entertainment company in putting together a Dial M for Mystery event, a parody of Alfred Hitchcock’s famous movie. They are still working out the details of the event, but are hopeful that the event will kickoff in between November and December.
