Film Festival features local filmmakers

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

As expanded in the other article on this page, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction is taking place in Cleveland this year, which is where the Rock Hall is located. This weeklong event is currently taking place and will continue through Sunday April 4. There will be free Admission to the Rock Hall on Saturday, so of course, this is the ideal place to go if you’re a college student with a budget in mind.

Dog Sees God

The University Theatre Guild, Dog Sees God, will be opening today in Guzzetta Hall. The play, which is based on the comic strip Unauthorized Parody, ventures into the question, What happens to pets when they die? This hilarious mature audiences only comedy will play at 8 p.m. April 2-4 and at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 5. Tickets are $5 for students, faculty members and seniors and will be $8 for non-UA students. This is a great chance to check out one of UA’s very own student productions.

S.E.L.L.O.U.T.

‘The Blackpack’ will be coming to our very own E.J. Thomas Hall, tonight at 8:00 p.m. This interactive comedy show includes Vince Morris, BT, Billy D. Washington and Louis Johnson, four witty comedians whose motto is: Be Yourself- Everyone Else Is Already Taken. The show also allows the audience to get involved and Ask a Black Man.. Anything, which is a known and popular segment of theirs. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for non-students.

Akron Film Festival

The Akron Film Festival kicks off today and will go on until Sunday, April 5. Will be held at the Akron Art Museum, which is located in downtown Akron. The film festival is a non-profit corporation and showcases NE Ohio filmmakers. There are also Filmmaking Workshops available. The deadline to sign up for them is tomorrow.
