“Recently the University of Akron added a $3 minimum to all of the food areas in the Student Union when a debit or credit card is used. However, this minimum does not apply to Zip cards. This new minimum seems completely unnecessary. In a way, they are forcing students to spend more money than necessary.”

This new minimum seems completely unnecessary.
In a way, they are forcing students to spend more money than necessary.
Many times a person may just want to buy a granola bar and nothing else at Zee’s, but that isn’t possible with the required minimum.
A student will be forced to spend more money if they wish to pay with their debit card.
A student could go and put money on their Zip card, but that is too much of a hassle when they are quickly trying to get to class and don’t have a lot of time to spare.
It seems that there shouldn’t be a minimum.
There are other places out there in the world that don’t require a person to spend more than $3 when they want to purchase something.
And since this is a college campus and most of us broke, it would be nice if the university didn’t make us spend more money than needed.
