Walking into an art building, you would normally expect to see works created by paintbrushes, easels, chisels and molds.

The last thing you might think about seeing is computers and projections screens, but at Folk Hall you will find exactly that.

Tony Samangy is the co-curator of Collider: Interactivity and New Media, a program created to explore new media.

The concept for this colaboration between art and technology sounds great!

Not only does this idea explore a different use for new media, it also gives onlookers a chance to give their thoughts as well.

Samangy stated that the main idea is for this all to be very interactive, and who amongst us doesn’t like to touch things?

All in all, it sounds like a great way to get more people involved in the arts, a trade which often seems to be overlooked and under-appreciated.

Art should be important to everyone, especially since it provokes creativity.

Whithout that, everything would just seem bland and colorless.

Collider: Interactivity and New Media has crossed creativity with something most people these days can’t live without.

Up until now, it seems like the only way we knew how to communicate was through texting, email and Facebook.

Maybe this exhibit will finally give us a different approach.
