Our View

“The university advertises during the Super Bowl game. They have for years, they will for years, and there’s probably nothing we can say to change that. We do think $42,000 is a lot of money to spend on a 30 second ad. Especially considering that this is more than the total cost for four years of the Akron Advantage.”

We do think $42,000 is a lot of money to spend on a 30 second ad.

Especially considering that this is more than the total cost for four years of the Akron Advantage.

We do think this year’s ad is better than last year’s, so at least that’s nothing to complain about.

Sure, there’s a lot of flying blue magic orbs, but at least the commercial is engaging.

But we know the real reason the university advertises during the Super Bowl game.

They want to attract football fans to our campus.

After all, they need to find a way to keep that new stadium full.
