Residence hall rates to remain on-campus over winter break

By: Samantha Hubble

Campus will be closed over winter break, but there are options for students who wish to remain on campus.

During break, most residence halls close, but some remain open for a price. Spicer Hall, Bulger Hall, Exchange Street Apartments, Quaker Square, Grant and the townhouses will remain open. Prices are $24 a night ($624 for the entire break) for most residence halls. Exchange Street Apartments run $32 a night ($832 for the entire break). Costs that are not paid ahead of time will be added to the student’s university account.

Students interested in accommodations must register online at www.uakron.edu/reslife. The form can be found by selecting the “News You Can Use” link on the left and then selecting the “Winter Break Housing Online Request Form.”  Registration is due by 5 p.m. on Dec. 11.  Only students who are registered to stay in the residence halls will receive their campus mail and have access to their building after 5 p.m. Dec. 11 or during break.
