Off-campus Services

By: Molly Gase

Located on the first floor of the Student Union, the Off-Campus Student Services office provides many services for students at UA.

According to The University of Akron’s homepage, the Off-Campus Student Services is the “one-stop resource for students who live off campus or plan to live off campus, their parents, and landlords.”

The office provides assistance for more than just students, also aiding parents in the transition of their child leaving the proverbial nest. Landlords are also aided by the office with the option of adding their property listings to the office’s database.

Services are listed on the website in a simple, easy-to-access format. Students can utilize the site to look for a room, find a new roommate, see programs and events, along with other deals for students off-campus.

News alerts are also available on the office’s website, giving students updates about off-campus crime. The website explains that the purpose of this feature is to inform and prevent crime in student housing near campus.

The Off-Campus Student Services office can be reached at 330-972-8690. Hours of operation for the office during the spring semester are Monday through Tuesday 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Wednesday through Thursday 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
