Undergraduate Student Government: recruit new members

By: Mary Beth Clemons

The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is recruiting 18 individuals to serve on the nine committees that make up the UC standing committees, with two students per committee.  Each committee will have two representatives from every constituency group, which includes faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, staff, contract professionals, deans and department chairs/school directors.

The chairperson’s purpose will be to share leadership amongst all individuals that are a part of The University of Akron with decision-making processes.  Each committee has specific responsibilities and will typically have regular meetings every two weeks.

The lists of committees include information technology; budget, finance and benefits; physical environment; communications; athletics and recreation; talent development and human resources; research and public affairs and development. More information about each one can be found on the USG webpage at http://www.uakron.edu/sg/asg/uc/.
