In what might come as a shock, I am going on record to state that Britney Spears looked unbelievably amazing at the Video Music Awards.
On the unbelievably rancid side, there are a few. I’d go with Jonah Hill – who wore jeans and a short-sleeved shirt, along with scruffy facial hair.
Nicky Hilton, who is famous for no reason, looked rather skanky. No, not good skanky. Being tall and thin doesn’t mean you can wear anything you want. Sheesh.
I don’t know who DJ Fatman is, but he wore dress socks and sandals. And a wife beater and boxers.
This isn’t even fit for a late night trip to Walmart to load up on munchies. And motor oil. And underwear.
I caught Step Brothers over the weekend. There were a few laugh-out-loud moments, but overall, I felt let down. It could have been better. Oh well.
In Ricky Martin news…
Wait. Is Ricky Martin even news anymore?
Well, since he is the proud padre of twin boys, that apparently qualifies. Of course, that renewed the is he gay? rumor and, considering the children were delivered by a surrogate, it did little to dispel it.
I can’t get over the amusing coincidence that David Duchovny – who has sought treatment for sex addiction – is starring in a cable series about a man with an overwhelming sexual appetite.
There was nothing on TV, so I watched The World’s Heaviest Man on TLC. For the record, TLC is awesomest channel ever for these kinds of shows. It features shows on little people, big people, people with Tourette’s, you name it.
OK, so on this show, the guy weighed 1,230 pounds. He started the Zone Diet, losing more than 350 pounds in five months.
Holy moly.
Granted, people don’t exactly watch these shows for educational purposes, so I’m not sure what purpose they serve.
Rebecca Romijn and hubby Jerry O’Connell are expecting twin girls this fall. According to O’Connell, the mom-to-be is getting bigger by the day and doesn’t like to miss meals. Nice.
I don’t think it needs said that it is beyond bizarre that the kid from Stand By Me hooked up with John Stamos’ ex.
Speaking of John Stamos, he hosted the Bob Saget Roast on Comedy Central a few weeks ago. Good stuff. If you missed it, make sure you catch it when they replay it. Preferably the uncensored version.
In the unlikely event you are running out of legal dramas to watch, Raising the Bar hit TNT recently. It’s a Steven Bochco vehicle, which is a big draw, considering his success with NYPD Blue.
Keeping with that theme, he resurrected Mark Paul Gossellar – of Saved by the Bell fame – in the lead role. Only problem? His hair. Argh. Cut that mop.
Better yet, just skip it.
The final season of one of the best cop dramas ever, The Shield, began last week. You can be certain that will be a regular feature this semester.
