On Monday convicted rapist Christopher Butts was sentenced to 94 years to life for raping four Akron women.

Butts, 24 year-old from Akron, was found guilty by a jury on Aug. 12, 2008, of 20 different charges. These charges included three counts of rape and one count of attempted rape.

Today, justice was served for the victims of Christopher Butts, said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh.

Judge Paul Gallagher also found Butts to be a sexually violent predator on Oct. 16.

Butts, who attacked four women from September through January, gained entry into the homes of the three victims around the university by crawling through a window.

These courageous women came forward to seek justice for themselves and for each other, Walsh said. They also wanted to insure that Butts could not do this to any other women. She also stated that while not easy, justice was served and that could not have happened without the help of the victims.

I am pleased that Judge Gallagher insured that he will never be able to hurt another woman because he will be in prison for the rest of his life, Walsh said.

Butts is not eligible for parole until he is 118 years-old.
