Coming to The University of Akron tonight is singer/songwriter Javier.
Javier’s music is an R&B/soul vibe with acoustic backgrounds.
His first album, which was self-titled, was released in 2003 and in 2006 released his sophomore album Left of Center.
Javier is a graduate from Hartford’s Hartt School of Music where he was a part of a quintet that performed at Apollo Theatre in New York City.
He is signed with Capitol Records. However, this well versed Conneticut native is not your everyday R&B singer.
With a soft voice and beautiful instrumentation, his music is easy to listen to and could soothe any stressed out college student.
Not only is he an incredible vocalist, but he also plays the acoustic guitar and the piano. Akron is the first stop that Javier will be making in a five month college/university tour.
Javier’s music is available for listen on his Myspace, www.myspace.com/javiermusic.
October Sky is a song that is beautifully written and whose instrumentation gives off a sultry jazz club vibe.
Another impressive song, Okay Here’s the Truth, is a catchier song accompanied by the acoustic guitar.
All of Javier’s songs include lyrics about love, life and his adoration for women.
Also available on his Myspace are youtube videos that showcase his life performances, which will definitely encourage you to go to the performance he will be giving tonight at the Stage Door at E.J. Thomas Hall.
Every video available for viewing shows a very relaxed, friendly hat clad Javier playing his guitar.
Personality is very important when it comes to a good stage performance, and Javier does a great job at hitting the nail on the head.
The concert tonight is sponsored by RHPB, the RHC and ZPN.
His performance will start at 8:00 p.m. and is free to University of Akron students.
If you are unable to make this performance tonight, Javier will be visiting Wittenburg University in Springfield Nov. 4 in their Student Center and Walsh University in Canton Feb. 10 at the David and Carol Campus Center.
