What is one question you’ve always wanted to ask an African American, but were too afraid to ask?
The question is the premise of Mark Cryer’s one-person, multimedia play, 99 Questions You’ve Always Wanted to Ask an African American but Were Too Afraid for Fear They’d Break Their Foot Off in Your A**.
According to Cryer’s Web site, the play is intended to begin a conversation, one that requires the courage to both ask and answer questions. Throughout the performance, Cryer moves between stereotypes and characters to provide the audience with insight into African American culture.
Cryer, an assistant professor at Hamilton College, will perform at 7 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 4 in the Student Union theater.
